The police department of Hollywood, South Carolina had been surprised to receive a call for backup from a CIA agent which had not announced himself to them to begin with. More surprising, he had been waiting for them with two cars, both racer looking, one Geo Storm male, apparently quite mute, the other something else, white female who looked more afraid than anything. She as well had forgotten how to speak.
But the Cobalt had not done it without sustaining injuries. But before he had been taken to the ER, he had insisted on taking photos of the white racer and email them.
Miles went over to Pilar's room with package in hand. He put it down and knocked on the doors. He had his face mask, but didn't know just how effective it was. "Just don't cough on me." He said through the closed doors.
Christine stretched. Another day in the confinement. But she couldn't really complain, as it was somewhat her fault that she was stuck there. But at least she had stopped beating herself up about it, most of time at least.

Zoe retrieved her morning emails at KSC, and the photos that had been attached to Roderick's made her pause and breathe in sharply. She hastened to blink out a response.
Pilar opened the door just a crack, just wide enough to take the package in, keeping her face clear of the gap. "Thank you."
Amara touched down and blinked her running lights to get Christine's attention. It was another welfare check.

"No problem." Miles said. "I got some paperwork to do and have to see Christoph, he's toying with the idea to step off the NASA program."
Yeah, I haven't done something stupid or aquired the FFRS (Fake Flight Ready Syndrome) Christine thought to herself as smiling and waving back to Amara. After hearing about her current bout of problems, she wondered just how today's conversation was going to be. She knew how outspoken Amara was, so she would probably end up getting all the gory details.

Zoe answered:
"Good luck." Pilar eased the door shut.
"You're lookin' a little better today, girlfriend." Amara remarked as she rolled up and parked.

"Not only that, but I feel better." Christine said. "Docs ain't finding a thing wrong with me in the healing process, nor does the physical therapist." She smiled.
"Thanks." Miles said to the now-shut doors. He headed out to another wing of the living quarters. He had to tell Christoph that he had a meeting with the psychologist later today, to confirm he was having World Transfer Depression. It hit on each verse in almost equal manners, people just not coping with being in a different world. There was also the fact that Christoph was great-grandson to a astronaut, and Miles had the feeling that he had been pushed to this than to have been given a choice.

"That's good to hear." Amara smiled, then sighed. "I suppose you heard the news by now. My ex is going over to the HV to take a job there. Seems the other Australia's air force is recruiting."
Zoe stretched and turned her attention back to Kam, who was having breakfast with his nanny and speaking with her in Korean. She would print out the photos and then have a session later on once she was confident that the child was ready.

"That's the single point the rumor gets." Christine's smile also faded. "But the point the various sources just can't agree on is the legality of the case, when it comes to your children."

"The law is still up in the air over that." Amara admitted. "They say they'll work out something in the next five years but that's too long for me and the kids. It might've ended badly for us, but they still love their dad. It means they might not see him for years. Contrary to what everyone might believe, I don't want to turn the kids against him. As per the divorce agreement, I don't talk trash about him in front of Gavin and Moira and he's not supposed to do that either when they're with him."

"You should ask for a vacation for this." Christine said. "I don't see any problem with you getting it during the human flu. I don't mean to try to educate you on how to raise your kids, but this situation can escalate that the kids may think you've alienated their dad enough that he went to another world."

"That's one way to work it out." Amara said. "They go over with me, I find someplace to stay, and they come back with me."

"But what would your ex think about that?" Christine asked. "I know it is sort of painful to prod at this matter, but I want to be sure you've thought of pretty damn everything before deciding."

"What haven't I thought of, now." Amara sighed. "I've been here five years, since the breakup, and it'd be no problem getting the off-time now. It's just the move with both kids that tires me out just thinking about it."

"We may be fliers who are familiar with travel that traveling to another side of the globe will not be a bother. But moving between worlds is a headache." Christine sighed. "And then, do the kids want to go to the desolate world to meet their dad?"

"I haven't really broken the news to them yet." Amara pursed her lips, "but they know something's up, especially Gavin. He's been really sullen today."

"Kids are known to pick something up before even the adults do." Christine chuckled. "Sometimes I wonder if I ever got cheated on that or I just never realized." But her facial expressions changed to more serious one.
"Everyone wants to protect their children, but this matter, you can't do that. They will know eventually."
