An overjoyed Kamui Exan took the podium today to claim the Piston Cup, concluding a historic Piston Cup season. Kamui is the second rookie to take the Piston Cup after Lightning McQueen in 2006, as well as the first female and first foreign-make to do so.
The race at Los Angeles Speedway also brought an end, as well as what may be a new beginning, to a fierce rivalry between the Number 85 Shooting Star and rival Jens Glimmer, a 4-Time DTM champion also racing his first Piston Cup season. Kamui, outspoken in her beliefs that "every car can achieve," was no stranger to conflict against the victory-obsessed Glimmer.
The Mercedes-Benz CLK, who came a close second in a race for the history books, was seen leaving the stadium just after the awards ceremony. His crew chief described the normally-frigid Mercedes as "looking like an innocent car sentenced to the crusher" as he left in his trailer.

Euro-Racing Management has announced that Jens Glimmer has been released from his contract and will no longer compete in the Piston Cup for the 2008 season, in a move that set off mixed reactions across the racing community.
"This has nothing to do with his performance in the Piston Cup in 2007," an ERM spokescar said, "This was a decision we both agreed on, that it was time for him to come into his own as a racer while we continue to focus on raising developing talent."
ERM has said it will hire Johann Von Klamp, a rising star on the European racing circuits to replace him on the roster. They also announced that tuning-parts conglomerate Unity Auto will sponsor their Piston Cup Outfit, replacing Pennziere.

Where in the World is Jens Glimmer? is the question that many of his fans continue to ask. The 4-time DTM champion has not been seen even in Europe after the end of his Piston Cup season last year, where he placed runner-up.
Urban legends continue to circulate over what may have been a possible battle against Johann Von Klamp of the Unity Auto Parts team. Von Klamp replaced Glimmer on the ERM roster for 2008 after Glimmer's contract expired at the end of the last season, a move that saw a complete overhaul of its Piston Cup operations. ERM has called the rumor "fiction," and Von Klamp refused to comment.
Yet amidst rumors ranging from a worldwide "roadtrip of self-discovery" to him being whacked by an organized crime boss who lost a bet, one thing's for certain - the hunt for auto racing's Silver Surfer goes on.

Nitropolis
Present Day
A white-and-blue BMW M3 parked under a solitary blinking red light. The light, and the streetlights nearby were the only sources of illumination in this part of town at this time of night, but the M3 was used to the darkness.
He pulled up the profile of a Mercedes Benz CLK on his info visor. The bounty on this one was huge, yet information on him apart from his make and last appearance was as dated as it was old. He was starting to think that it was all just a hoax. Even though the info was based on an actual car, the Bimmer figured that what was left of the bounty might as well be sealed inside the concrete block he was idling over.
Heh...just like Jimmy HoffeVille. Carl Magnus thought to himself with a smirk. Fork this...I should probably head back to Palmont...
Unfortunately, the highway between Nitropolis and Carbon County had been crawling with cop cars recently in a state effort to curb illegal activity, and the M3 wasn't feeling that cocky to take them or the back roads on tonight.
Maybe I can have a little fun while I'm here... he thought, pulling up his GPS to look for other bounties, and started to move on...
