Finally, the #22 trailer parked into its designated spot, Dani unhooking and pulling out to meet up with the other drivers. David pulled up to the door and knocked on it, signalling to the car inside it was safe to open the door. It slowly lowered and Anastasia rolled out, stretching her axils. She had calmed down from her earlier phone call, and she looked around, eager to get on the track...
... Or possibly looking for a certain Toyota.
(I sleep now. Night y'all!)

Said "certain Toyota" was en route to the race track, still flanked by his parents. They were fairly stately cars for their generation and make, albeit quite small compared to Eddie as well as the traffic around them. Both of them had humble smiles on their fascias and were anxious to meet his teammates...something Eddie dreaded. If they were hostile to him for who he was...who knew how much his family would suffer.
"Annie? I'm almost th-there..." Eddie called over his phone. "Who's that you're calling?" his mother - a Corona - asked... "Er...just my c-c-crew chief." "Maybe she's your biggest fan," his Crown father joshed. "She's not!" Eddie replied embarrasingly...

"Ebs and I found it," replied Boost, "while we were cruising Smasherville. It's nice little corner restaurant that caters to tuners and their friends. And the prices are really reasonable."
But Ebony herself was distracted by something else and wasn't really listening. She had seen some cars glare her way and sensed that there must be a general dislike of tuners like her. And why is she still feeling useless? Maybe she'd better go as she felt like a burden.
"I'm gonna head off to the park for a little while for a little peace and quiet because, you know, the twins don't like loud noises," she said and quickly drove away.

Tex came out of the Dinoco tent, noting the hostile glares that Ebony was receiving. Obviously, some had not absorbed the content of the memo that was sent around the previous week, even though Ondine had all but shoved it in their faces. He hoped that they wouldn't have to take any harder action on this matter, but if it came to that, he'd grasp the nettle.

Ebony wasn't fond of all the glares that she was getting, so she just edged further into the shadows so that she wouldn't be seen. They hate me because I'm a tuner. With the exception of that little corner restuarant, Ebony was really starting to not like Smasherville. It was the same thing all over again as it was in Miami.

Strip and Lynda came over to where Ebony was. "Obviously, some people have no class." he noted the attitudes of some of the locals, projecting a sharp stare right back at the ones who had allowed their prejudice to show.
Ondine had also finished with her tasks, and was on her way over.

"Had to deal with the prejudice my whole life," grumbled Ebony, "Chrysler, I hate people who are like that. Just because I'm a tuner..."

"Hey, Ebony." Ondine joined the Weathers at the Viper's side. "If ANYONE gives you trouble, we are going to sort it out, and quick."

(Eddie called her over the phone or the radio? Because the only phone she has is in her trailer, and she just left it.)

Ebony looked up at Ondine and the Weathers, "Thanks, but I don't think I'm gonna have a very good time in Smasherville now. I won't be able to relax without having some form of prejudice thrown at me."
"Right now," Ebony continued, "I just want to be somewhere nice and private where they won't bother me."
It was at this time that Sapphire came over, having finished her practice, and saw how Ebony was acting.
"What's going on?" she asked her parents, "Is Ebony alright?"

"Apparently, SOME people here have no manners when it comes to folks who are "different". Lynda sniffed disdainfully at the hostile glances from some quarters. "What pitiful creatures they are." She said it loud enough to be heard at that distance.

Sapphire frowned and h'rumphed. "Bunch of lousy hypocrites." She threw a sharp glare in the aforementioned quarter's direction as well. "They have no right to treat Ebony like that just because of what she is."
Ebony wanted to curl up into a tight little ball and hide. It was either that or be forced to bite one of those who were discriminating toward her.

"Why don't we go on to that cafe?" Tex suggested as he joined them. "I'm sure the owner doesn't put up with any of that scrap there."

Sapphire waved Kitt over as she felt a little hungry after her practice.
"Anything to get away from the prejudice," answered Ebony as she stood back up, "It's a nice little corner cafe run by a pair of tuner brothers. They're very open-minded and will serve anyone. You'll like it. I'll show you where it is."
