As was TWBY, this is another shot-in-the-dark, aircraft-roleplay idea. In hindsight, I acknowledge the air show was a pretty stiff setting; too rigid, as it were. Hopefully this one turns out to be more flexible.
The reasoning is this: tuners band together to form gangs. Would there not be aircraft equivalent gestalts, raising a little mayhem for commonfolk air traffic? Exactly how dangerous said "mayhem" would be could be determined by whomever is involved. For all purposes, the focus could be upon a cast of villains.
While I picture it as a mostly-airborne story, I theorize that there would be old bases, abandoned hangers and whatnot scattered about the countryside. Not to mention the specifically-sanctioned neighborhoods for fixed-wings and helos.
With regard as to when it takes place, I would say a good time after TWBY, on the same vein as present day. Characters from that thread are welcome, as they were or developed since the day. For example, I'm fancying the idea of giving my Mustang, Ari's, profile an overhaul, turning him from pylon racer to reformed aerial menace.
Again, the story is still in the conceptual stages. Input and/or opinions can expand upon it.
Like it, hate it, just thought I'd get the idea out of my head and available for the record.

Hmm...sounds interesting... but I think I'd have to create a character for it...

If you require any help with that, here are some links. Fixed-wings at Wikipedia This link explains many of the basics of flight and general airplane design. Helos at Wikipedia HowStuffWorks explains helicopter flight Or if you're still unsure of what specific model(s) you want, I'd be willing to do research on possibilities.

Can it be any kind of "flying machine"? I was thinking of making my character a busch plane or something like that...

I don't see why not. As long as it flies it would be apropos.

Again, so it's out there, the basics on my characters. Their full profiles will be posted later. Ari ("Raid") Wright - P-51 Mustang, D variant Griselda ("Zelda") Sylvester - Focke-Wulf Fw 190, exact variant unclear Luke and Logan ("L&L") Alliston - F-82 Twin Mustang, G variant I have others, two Pave Hawks and a P-40, but for the time being, these four are who I plan to focus on.

This sounds like a great RP for Malcolm Everidge, my wise-ass gambling-cheat third-generation Spitfire. He's still trying to maintain some respectability for his girlfriend's sake, but Jenna Jaeger has a skeleton in her own closet - a Nazi ancestor in her otherwise impeccably Mustang woodpile.
Maybe I could also use Blanche Woodman, my F-111, in some capacity. She could be a respectable retiree with some knowledge of the dark side of aircraft society.

Did some thinking, revising the plan for my characters. Chances are I might make something about Ari's mentioned-but-not-seen sister, Anita. I'd imagine she would be quite adament in finding out what caused him to drop off the radar.
Perhaps, by chance, Blanche might be able to point her in the right direction.

Blanche would have a lot of old pals in the military as well, either active or retired. Their grapevine is still unrivalled, internet or no.

That would make for an interesting tier to add to support the story's front, allowing for the background involvement of NPCs.
I'm curious to see what kind of character rizahawkeye has whipped up first, and then we'll hammer out the finer details.

Cessna 208 Caravan? Nice choice, especially for the type of personality you describe in Todd.
Have you got a specific idea of how you want to incorporate him into the story (has he got an agenda?), or will it be more of a case of happening upon the rest of the cast?

I think more of the second. I'm not sure how he'll come in, but it'll be easier once we get the whole thing running.

The gang might be interested in making his acquaintance. To them he would seem like easy prey - tease-wise, that is.
Or he could find a stint as a potential friend for Anita. Or both, even.
As for where this would all occur, regionally speaking, I keep thinking of the open spaces over the central U.S. Or over the Dakotas would be something new, possibly involving the national border.
If anyone has other ideas, feel free to object.
