The aircraft were already out, with the helos using noisemakers to make shrill keening sounds and the jets making low-level passes with no running lights to add to that oppressive, anxiety-inducing feeling as Hicks once again approached the mountain. He was bound and determined to find out what and who were there! Tex, Strip, Doc and Lightning were watching from afar, recording the event for posterity (and potential blackmail ).
The riders, all prepared, went on ahead of the cars, made up like ghosts or like Sauron's riders.

Phoenix rode out into the night onto the access road to intercept Hicks. And since she already knew that Delfina could control the weather, she had asked her to make it as foggy as possible. The Trans Am used her foglights to pierce through the fog and trying to sense ahead where exactly Hicks was at so she wouldn't unintentially run into him. Her baby's safety was the first and foremost thing on her mind, even as she was doing this, yet she didn't want to miss out on the fun.

Jason decided not to partake in the prank itself, figuring that the makeup and general mood would suffice for Chick. He casted an invisibility spell on himself, giving himself a nice front row space for the show. The Verant brothers decided to be with the helos.

Soon, Ricardo and his siblings had finished up with everybody. "Now," said Ebony, as she observed all the zombified cars, "we have a zombie horde."
(((((OOC: How is Phoenix going to meet up with Chick to cast her curse? I'm not sure how to do that.)))))

The helos were staying in one clear area, staying safely clear of the jets doing their passes. A bright line of fire flared and then died in the gloom, with a thunderous roar to follow.
"That was Denise for sure." Buck remarked. "Heard enough Phantoms when I was service."
Chick wasn't so certain as he made his way down the road, impeded by fog and darkness. He had no headlights of his own, which didn't help his state of mind. Only stiff-necked pride kept him going.
Darcy and Mike waited with the other cars to make their grand entrance. Kendall stayed with Ebony by the main portal. "I think we'll be getting our cue quite soon."

Soon, a pair of headlights pierced through the fog, causing an eerie white-yellowish light. Phoenix sensed Chick approaching.
"Going down this road, Mr. Hicks?" she asked in an mysterious voice, "You should beware. It's dangerous."

Ebony nodded, "Phoenix promised to let me know."

Chick pulled up abruptly, blinking hard when the headlights shone in his face; despite his trepidation, he was all bluster. "And who the hell do you think YOU are, Little Miss Morbid?"

Phoenix bristled at being called that name, but didn't say anything to it. Her headlights were in Chick's face anyway, so he couldn't exactly see what she looked like. Thank Chrysler for that.
She replied in the same tone of voice, "Who I am isn't important. You have sinned, Mr. Hicks. Those you have sinned against will rise up from the grave to consume your soul."

Hicks laughed. "Yeah, and what kinda B-movie did you dredge this out of?" He started to advance once again.
"I imagine Phoenix is talking to Hicks right now." Kendall smiled.

Phoenix only smiled. It was a private amusement and a small accomplishment on her part. She reversed a little, but manuevered just enough into the fog so Chick still wouldn't see what she looked like, but decided to let him pass.
"Be warned," she said in that eerily calm voice, "The Spiked One will take her revenge."
She manuevered a little more until she disappeared into the fog.

"And I bet she's enjoying this," agreed Ebony.

Chick snorted dismissively as he passed. "Give my regards to the boojums, willya?" He continued on, nerving himself up for a confrontation.

Jason watched with slight amusement. He made it carefully so that he would not be seen, heard, smelled or his tracks would be visible. Now this is fun. Jason thought. Though he had done few party tricks, it was always better to watch them rather than to preform.

Phoenix only smiled again. We have you right where we want you. She turned around and took a short cut back to the mountain. Once she arrived, she pulled up to the main entrance where Ebony and Kendall were waiting.
"Hey, it worked," she grinned at them, "It's your cue now."
"Thanks, Nix," replied Ebony, shifting into gear to the rondevous point with Chick, "The rest of you wait at the 'crash site', I'll chase him there so that we can corner him."
"I'll join you all a little later," Phoenix said as they departed, "But first, I have to go get myself painted up to look the part."
"Sure," Ebony called back as she drove off for the confrontation.

Chick continued onward, albeit much more slowly. In the dim, hazy moonlight, he made out a crude white cross, flowers and mementos. To Ebony, one card proclaimed in marker-written letters. That made Chick start. "WHAT?! But I was just talking to that girl last night!"
In the distance, a horse's whinny echoed. There were hoofbeats, and the jingling of bits. An involuntary shudder ran through the stocker. Did those humans ride around at night?
Kendall and the others stifled laughs and did their best to take on a sober, spectral aspect as they moved out into the desert scrubs.

Daniel looked at the scene through his night vision goggles with his glasses on. It was not much to see because of the fog, but he could make out some of the shapes and identify the different cars.
"You know you could have joined in with the Rover." Daniel said to Aron.
"Not with this shoulder." Aron replied. He was happy to let Ebony take the main role.
"You could have at least let me drive."
"And you would have found the nearest lake, or just conjured one and dived right in it." Aron grabbed the goggles from Daniel and looked on.
"You still mad about that?" Daniel said bit hurt.
"I loved that Hilux. You destroyed the indestructible Hilux. A honest-to-god Toyota Hilux!" Aron chuckled in the end, ruining the bashful mood.
