'Factory option wasn't even a choice for me,' said Ebony, 'Had to carry the twins to full term inside my own body. It was difficult and distressing on my health. You're gonna be going through the same thing I did too.'

Phoenix shivered at that, going through a term still scared her some. But she wanted to bond with her baby. Most in the Grayston lines were always carried to term.
Most everyone who could afford it had always gone for the factory option but then they always passed the child off to a nanny to watch.
'I want a bond... With my child... Like what you have... With yours...' she said.

'Hey, if I can do it,' said Ebony, 'than so can you. I bet you'd make a great mom.'

Phoenix blinked. 'You... You think I will...'

Ebony gave a mental nod, 'Sure I think so. I can already tell that you care about that baby. It's called maternal instinct. You have that.'

Phoenix blinked and ran her antenna along her side. She did care about this child and what happened to it. She glanced at the dozing Ricardo. 'He's sort of starting to get like that.'

'He had some experience raising me, so I guess it was easy for him to go into paternal mode once he found out you were in term,' said Ebony.

'He's not going to smother me with attention is he? Phoenix said as she shifted restlessly on the lift, she seemed ready to get down.
(((Sorry for being slow, reviewing movies for work, 'Evan', '28 weeks later' and 'Reign Over Me'. Got one down so far.)))

Ebony shook her front, 'No I don't think so. He has since learned a few tips with me, though, but I think once things start to get a little bit more difficult for you, he'll start helping you out and make sure nothing puts either you or the baby at risk.'

Ondine, Mike and Kendall helped rip the tent down and roll it up for transport to the new site behind the clinic.
: It happens when the baby starts drawing nutrients from the mother's body, and she hasn't got enough for both her and it,: Kathleen answered. :Can happen with smaller cars and aircraft, not so much with larger ones. The proper nutritional supplements can keep it under control.:

'Thats good', Phoenix said. 'I just don't want to be treated like glass'. She sighed as she fidgeted on the lift again.
(((Time jump how?)))

'Sounds like a big health risk to the mother and the baby,' said Delfina, 'Happens in humans too when we don't have enough electrolytes in our bodies. It's called a chemical imbalance.'
~~~~~
'I'm pretty sure he won't treat you like that,' said Ebony. Then she smiled a bit, 'Ready to get off that lift, huh?'
"Yeah... I am," Phoenix said as she shifted again. "I'm feeling better... Just a little tired still."
"Well, it would help to get some sleep," said Ebony, "You don't want to be driving when you're tired."
<<< OK with me. >>>
Kendall called from the clinic door. "We'll get the tent set up out behind. There's trees all around, so it won't be visible from the road."
:The more things change, the more they stay the same, eh?: Kathleen's response had a slightly ironic tone.
