Kamui had also woken up and was on the track practising. She was determined not to lose today. This time, she was going to show the world....

"She might be, her being an early riser and all," Boost replied as he returned the nuzzle, "Ebs might be up to a visit this morning form her brother and her best friend."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I know that," nodded Sapphire, "Perhaps going out to the track and practicing would tell me how good you are."
Ondine passed by Phoenix's trailer on the way out, and wondered if Ebony's brother and friend would also be interested in going out with her.
"C'mon," Boost urged, "We need to reassure Ebs that we're still there for her and care about her."
"And I enjoy her being the early worm, I take advantage sleeping in," Phoenix said hitting the door control. "Do you know the way to the camp?"
~~~~~
"Wouldn't hurt," Kitt said scrounging around for the headset. "I've spent enough time watching behind the scenes to pick up a few things."

Sapphire hit the door control which brought the ramp down, "Alright, I think that would work. Want to go to breakfast first? A full tank usually helps me think better on the track."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"No," Boost rolled down the ramp, and he spotted Ondine. He knew that the Bricklin was almost always with Ebony, acting as sort of a guardian and a den mother to his sister.
He turned back to Phoenix, "But I think Ondine might know."
Kitt stopped his search. "Sure, know anywhere around?"
~~~~~
"Then lets ask her." Phoenix suggested. "Better than hunting around all day long."

"I've raced on this track a couple of times before," replied Sapphire, "so the closest restuarant would be Greg's Eatery, if I remember correctly. They serve delicious gas."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Boost nodded and went over to the green Bricklin. "Hey, Ondine? By any chance are you going to see Ebony? Phoenix and I would like to come too."
"Well then lead the way, Boss." Kitt said playfully and chuckled.
"Ha ha, very funny, Kitt," Sapphire chuckled as she hit the door control. The ramp lowered smoothly and she rolled down it.
"Hey, be thankful I'm not a stuffy lawyer," Kitt grinned as he followed her. "You just get stuck with one with a bad sencse of humor."
"Sure, I was wondering if you wanted to do that." Ondine waited as Boost and Phoenix descended the ramp. "It's about a half hour's drive."
"Oh, really? I was starting wonder where all the bad puns were coming from," Sapphire chuckled, "But you're a fun lawyer."
"We're up to that," replied Boost, "We'll come."
After all that had happened to him the last week, Joltsen was determined not to let it get him down. Joltsen was relieved that it was an afternoon race. It allowed him to get fully tuned for the race, and patched up after the tumble down in the pit.
Now he was on the track, getting last minute practicing done. While his profile said he was from California, he had moved to Bristol in his early teens. He never considered the Los Angeles International Speedway his home turf. If anything, it was this track. When he had moved to Bristol, he had really then gone into racing.
Motor Speedway of the South, now famous for three car tie last year. There had been made several predictions about today's race, and it didn't surprise Joltsen that several of them had ties or near ties.
It was Joltsen's first race of the season. Norman had ruined his chance to race for real a week earlier,and he was determined not to let Norman getting under his skin. As training, he was able to zone out everything else than the track and the others on it, with a little help from Egill. He slingshot on the outside past a familiar blue car tagged with Flo 'n Go.
Jens Glimmer was visibly disappointed to see that his alarm had woken him up AFTER practice started, but then again the track would be nice and warm for him.
Today, I'm going to win. It would offend El Bandito for sure, but it was a mantra he was used to.
((It's not already raceday, is it? Who qualified where?))
