((sounds good =3))
KanKov perched on his rock again, to catch any possible scent of the Acro. He did, though, it seemed to have stop, either to kill another poor shmuck...or it smelt KanKov as well, he only hoped it was the former.
If he was correct, it was still making it's way out of the rocks...it probably caught a small scavenger and was having an after-snack...
---
Jabali, after freeing himself from the crack that was slightly smaller than he had thought, made his way near the end of the rocks and out into the open. Hissing as blinding sunlight reached his eyes, he prowled around to the side of the rocks where it sent a long shadow across the spot of land.
Continuing his walk, he began to wonder where that escaped prey had gotten off to.

Sarena gave a loud short howl, warning the others around there was another one, a Makena intruding. She launched at him, snapping her jaws just in front of his snout. "Go away and hide in the forest Makena." She growled. "This is not your territory." She was aware that she would never be able to best another raptor alone, with her limp and blindness, but she knew that if it had to come to it, she would at least injure it beyond recovery before dying, for the pack.

Suddenly struck in side, Zubrini tumbled with whoever had attacked her in the grass until they both came to a stop. Jumping up quickly, Zubrini hissed loudly at her attacker and spread her front claws out in a threatening manner. She dropped into a defensive stance.
She screeched at him.

Jabali stopped suddenly, he sniffed the air and a malicious grin spread across his face, "Zeburi, I do remember...beasts you are, you will remember me." He looked off in the distance, where he could smell Zeburi by the heaps.
"Found you I have..."
((btw, this is not the Acro that killed KanKovs parents =P fyi xD))

Seleysha looked up at hearing a familiar call. Sarena? Deciding to leave the outsider to the males, she darted off to assist the fellow Zeburi female. She knew Neo would understand; split second decisions were frequent in an attack.
The male who struck first growled in return, along with the second lackey. Neonis, easily a fourth bigger than the other two, came forward to glare daggers at Zubrini.
"Some wandering scout, here to sniff out some new ground?" he challenged, standing tall and making sure every giant talon was in plain sight.
*
Azra pulled his face back, avoiding the snap on the nose with ease. He took a few steps back, assessing the rival female. If she were completely up to snuff, he would be mincemeat by now.
"You don't have to state the obvious," he replied smoothly, "It's just, I don't like seeing others get picked on simply because they happen to wander through here."
((Gotta go. Brother wants the computer.))

KanKov watched the landscape, nothing special, but the Acro had stopped agian, and he had a feeling that it had caught their scent. No matter, he knew the beast would not try to cross the grassland now, not during the day.
And anyway, it would try to pick them off one by one, not attack an entire clan, it knew better.
---
Jabali slunk away to find a place to keep himself when night came, he'd be ready. Finally finding a shady area, he laid down and fell asleep quickly.
((kk, bye orca!))

Zubrini growled back at the two males and Neonis. She wasn't about to let her fear take hold of her nor let it show to these raptors, who looked bigger than she was. That would be a mistake.
"No, I'm not scout," she replied fiercely, "I'm just passing through. I don't mean to enter into your territory, but was trying to avoid it. I didn't even know that it was your territory in the first place."

"Everyone takes a risk when traveling. The intruder knew the risk, and so do you." She quickly launched into an attack without any more warning.

"Your misfortune," Neonis sneered, "Then perhaps I should be gracious, let you off with a warning?" He spoke as if it were some great favor to give Zubrini a chance to get away.
The subordinates shifted their weight from one foot to the other, tense, waiting for the Beta's unspoken signal to launch another strike.
*
Not expecting her to lunge, Azra jumped backwards as quickly as he was capable of. He'd barely landed when something struck him from the left. He slid down the riverbank on his side, the second attacker standing atop him. With a growl, he kicked the smaller 'raptor off just as she lashed at his face with a forepaw.
The tip of one claw traced a fine cut above his lip, but missed his eye. Struggling back to his feet, Azra saw the female recover her footing and move to Sarena's side, hissing softly. He recognized the grayish plummage.
"Seleysha, nice to see you out and about," he offered mockingly.
"You heard what she said, Makena," the Zeburi Beta snapped, "Get back on your side if the river if you want to remain in one piece!"

Sarena hissed in attack stance, ready to strike if Azra would continue to attempt to get past them. She flexed her flaws on her hands, and raised her scythe claws on her hind leg. She, being not of a higher rank in the Zeburi, waited on Seleysha's signal.

Zubrini was cautious. How can she trust Neonis's word if he sounded so mocking to her? She growled, lowering her head defensively, flexing her front claws, and was looking for a clear path to escape.
"What warning is that?" she asked apprehensively.

At a lake nearby was Maui. Having been outcast from her old clan for a while now, she had been left to her own devices and hasn't eaten for a while. She sat down and was muttering to herself.
"So.... hungry....." she muttered under her breath.
She glanced over to see some tall grass.
"Maybe..... maybe I can.... Heh.... if it didn't kill anyone else, now why would it kill me?" Maui muttered.
Perhaps to other dinosaurs knowing what the raptor speicies was notorious for would have found the following a most unusual sight - a raptor, Maui no less, attempting to eat grass.

((Just a little friendly factoid, Kamui: the only body of water around this territory is the river that divides the plains from the forests.))
A subtle turn of the head, a half-blink, was all the cue the subordinates needed. Both 'raptors crouched low, made a short dash to either side, leaped, and simultaneously tackled Zubrini, pinning her to the dirt with their combined weight. Their claws were dug in just enough to cause pain, their jaws poised menacingly over her neck and spine.
Neonis strode forward and leaned down to hiss threateningly in Zubrini's ear, his teeth centimeters from her skin. "That if you set foot on our land again, I promise we'll finish the job. For now, consider yourself lucky." He let the message hang, before straightening back up, issuing a short bark of back off to his soldiers.
As they did so, he looked toward the river, making the same call to the Zeburi females.
*
Seleysha began to hiss, too. Judging the silence behind them, Neonis had probably finished off that stranger. It would only be proper to dispose of this Makena in much the same fashion.
Azra backed up with slow, deliberate steps, shifting his gaze back and forth between the Beta and Sarena. He stopped abruptly on hearing the unmistakable "retreat" call from further out in the grass.
The Beta female's growling ceased instantly. She didn't look back toward the call. Instead, she turned to Sarena. "He's not worth it. Let's go." That said, she darted back through the grass, heading northeast.
Azra stood on the riverbank, puzzled by what he was seeing. Why were the Zeburi retreating?

Sarena hissed for the last time before following Selysha. She was also bit puzzled, but knew it was better to follow Seleysha than to stay.

(OOC: Er.... then Maui's at a river....? ^^; Well.... some large body of water at least anyways.....)
Maui then heard what sounded like another raptor near by. It was a comical sight as she popped up out of the vegitation with long blades of grass that she had currently been eating were dangling out of her mouth.
"I 'ought I 'eard 'other 'aptor....." said Maui with food in her mouth.
She glanced around and wondered where the sound came from.
