The hybrid's scowl deepened as he turned back to the kennel. "You can't be left to your own devices for five minutes without causing mayhem, can you, mutt?" he growled.
In reply, the soft whimpering ceased.
Shawn sighed in exasperation. Now what was he supposed to do? Apologize on behalf of some creature that he would swear up and down wasn't his? And where was Natalie? He had agreed to pay her to look after Boo. Had she shown up today while he had been gone?
Blasted animal. Gonna get my name written up on a lot of folks' bad lists without me even being a party to his misbehavior.
He took another studious look at Red. The fire truck's solemn expression was enough to invoke a feeling of guilt. Would it really be so bad to swallow his anger for a moment and try to reassure Red it wouldn't happen again?
"You happen to know his name?" he asked Malcolm, while indicating said truck.

"How about you and me have a little race, huh?" smirked Sapphire, "But it won't just be any race. This will be a race of who can be the most annoying to each other. If I win, you have to show me all your tricks as a cross-country racer. But if I lose, I will have to do something for you. Sound reasonable?"
(((((OOC: She got him hook, line, and sinker... XD)))))

"Queen for a day?" asked Ebony, "What's that and how does it cheer me up?"

"Everyone calls him "Red." Malcolm shrugged.

"I would," Kitt said. "I would like to very much."
~~~~~
"Sounds reasonable," Neil grinned. "But you race on my good side so I can see ya."
~~~~~
"You sit back and relax and let us take care of everything," Phoenix said. "If you need anything, we'll get for. If you want something we'll fix it for ya."

Shawn took another pause, weighing the pros and cons of his next decision. He glanced at the foxdog's kennel as he did, wondering if instead he should risk teaching the sorry critter a lesson.
He drew himself up. He'd deal with this as he would with a disgruntled employer. At least it would be off his mind once it was done.
"Thanks for the information," he nodded to the Spitfire before cautiously making his way out of the alley, and over to the courthouse. He was careful to approach in a non-threatening manner, his expression and posture not suggesting anything.
"Excuse me... Red?"

"I follow the rules of the racetrack," replied Sapphire, "I may be on either side to get past you. So, I think we may have to set up some rules. What we need to do is find a long stretch of road where there's no other cars around, choose sides and we will not be allowed to switch sides. That, I think, will keep me on your good side where you could see me. How does that sound?"
~~~~~
"You mean that you'd be bringing me stuff if I ask for it?" asked Ebony, "Besides the required exercise I need because I'm in term, I won't have to get up and move around? You'd do everything for me? Sounds neat. When does it start?"
"Sounds fair," Neil said. "Though I don't know the area around here except for that Butte area."
~~~~~
"It can start tonight." Phoenix said. "And it can go on through the party."

"There she is now..." Strip rose on his shocks as Lynda negotiated her way through the throng. "Over here, hon!"
The blue station wagon sighted her mate and angled towards him as he turned back to Kitt. "My wife, Lynda."
Lynda cocked her front curiously at Kitt. She'd seen him around, but hadn't really spoken to him up until now.
"Have you met Kitt Streamliner?" Strip asked his better half.
"Well, I've seen him," Lynda nodded, "But I didn't really ask his name yet." She smiled warmly at the Bonneville. "How do you do?"
"That sounds like a great idea." Darcy said to Boost. Johnny came up to her about that time, nodding in agreement.
Red turned and looked directly at Shawn with a questioning glance...

"I've been here before," said Sapphire, "this is actually my third visit so I know my way around here. It wouldn't take long for me to find a good stretch of road that we can use."
~~~~~
Ebony smiled and looked at her friends and brother, "That's a good idea. How soon does the bonfire party start?"
"Uh, hi there."
Despite himself, Shawn offered a small, apologetic smile. "I'll get right to the point, sir. I was just informed as to what a certain foxdog did to your flowerbeds, and I've come to apologize. As much as I'd rather dismiss the notion, if you wish for the blame to fall somewhere, it may as well be with me. In hindsight, I probably should have penned him up before leaving for my drive this morning."
He paused to let it sink in. "Anyway, Red, what I mean by all that is I'm sorry for what he did to your flowers. If there is a way in which I can make amends for his behavior, I'm all ears."
"Nice to meet ya Mrs. Weathers. Ma'am." Kitt said tipping his front.
~~~~~
"Alright," Neil said. "I trust ya to find a good strech"
~~~~~
"Probably when it gets dark," Phoenix said. "You can't have a party till it get darks."
"Fine," Sapphire started up her engine, "Just follow me."
~~~~~
"But how long do I have to wait for it to begin?" asked Ebony, "You know I get a little bit impatient."
"I know," replied Boost, "but I think you have to learn to be patient for once. Anxiety isn't good for you right now."

Neil nodded and started up his engine. "Alright then."
~~~~~
"Not at all, and don't worry it'll start soon." Phoenix said. "This is gonna be your time to sit back and relax for a change."
"The kids will definitely teach you patience, when you have them." Ondine laughed. "I know I tried my mother's patience when I was growing up, MANY times. And you can ask Buck about dealing with two girls."
"And nice to meet you too, Mr. Streamliner." Lynda replied sweetly. "I've seen you around with my daughter a couple of times. I take it that she likes you."
Red looked down at Shawn, nodding and smiling a little. "I-i-it's O-O-O-k-kay." he finally managed to enunciate.
Sapphire led Neil down the street, soon coming to one of the backroads. She wanted to be far enough away so that her and the Shelby Mustang's little race wouldn't endanger anybody.
~~~~~
"I think that's gonna take me some time to learn," smiled Ebony, "I have a tendency to rush around alot. But, I think the idea of being a mother is starting to grow on me."
