It can come in both forms, I think.
One for drinking and the other for oil transfusions.
Like one RP character said in the Cars RP awhile back before CFU crashed: "One of you better be leaking oil." And that was before she permitted the two that she was talking to into the clinic.

In my fanfic, I compare the engine oil of being blood, while cars just drink gasoline. I think changing oil would be though less hazzle of our cars. I think it would be more of a booster shot in the Cars world. Maybe they clean their own oil internally, so there is no need for oil changing for every x miles.

It's obviously something that cars drink, seeing how there are cans of the stuff all over Flo's. Also, right before the "turn right to go left" scene, Doc tells Sheriff to "get a quart of oil at Flo's".
As for getting rid of dirty oil...well, maybe that's what the bathrooms we see at the first race are for.
And I try not to make too many parallels between a car's "anatomy" and a human's. Waaaaaay too different.
They can also "walk" to an extent, like we see Mater doing as he sneaks up on the first tractor.

Dinoco could be like Coke, Nitrade would be Powerade, because they are both liquids they need. How come in the pics the cars drink from canes, but in RS, McQueen was filled using him proper gas tank?

I'd guess they can do it both ways, from a gas tank and using their mouth. I haven't decided just why that is, yet.

There are three ways for racecars to get fuel. There is the mouth, the opening on the side and the opening in the back. In the beginning race, we see one of the racers drinking gas, while in the tiebreaker, McQueen gets fuel from both the side and back from Fillmore and Sarge.
As for regular cars, I think they can also fuel up from the side.

Let's not confuse oil with gasoline hyar. That all being said, I like to think that oil is more like blood since it clearly keeps the cars in movable order (per se.) An oil leak would be the equivalent of an open wound.

Meh, I've always thought of oil being the car equivalent of food (which would help to not only sate hunger, but help to keep the engine and other parts lubricated and working properly - much like in real life, for the latter part at least lol), with gasoline being some sort of 'blood' as it were - the stuff which keeps the car actually moving.
Seriously, Pixar opened up a whole can of worms for us auto-anoraks with this whole 'world full of talking transport' malarkey ;D

another thing about oil. If a character cut there tongue would it "bleed" oil? or blood or whatever? its obviously fleshy but i just wondered if it'd make a mess

I think that oil might be a little bit of both- just like how we drink water, but the human body is over 50% water. (not really sure on the exact percentage; it's been a while since I last had a biology class)

people can go without alcohol. i do. cars can't go without oil. incidentally, the commonly stated figure is 98% for the water in the body thing.
I figure that oil is more like blood than petrol. petrol is something a car needs a regular intake of. much moreso than oil.
if we think of oil as being blood, then we need to also accept the principle that for them, the changing of oil/blood isnt as it is for a human.

Hmmm... I think oil be blood, cars have to have an oil-flow to keep going. As do we humans, only ours is blood. Gasoline would probably be like a drink, cars need that, as they do with oil, to keep going. Like we have to drink something to keep from being dehydrated, that would be like running on empty for a car until they pass out. Ethanol would probably be like alcohol, we don't NEED it, but some of us WANT it. That's just my opinion, I'm into cars and know a little about them, so that helps when car theory comes up... I said something smart, YAY!! ;D
