"Can't say anyone would blame her," Phoenix said. "But she looks like she's tied up with that tow truck that came from the town here they found Raine."

Ricardo looked and sure enough, there was the Mater chatting it up with Ebony. "His name's Mater, I think. Friendly enough fellow and doesn't even care if he's old and rusty. Maybe we should wait until she's free of any other distractions before we approach her with our offer."

Phoenix nodded. "Okay, I'm patient enough, we can wait."
((Got to go to work, please puppet until I get back on around 11 central. I'll have the week's schedule by then. Laters)))

<<< Sorry, I nodded off >>>
"That li'l nanny goat in the pen outside." Mater answered. "They tell me she's gonna have babies soon."
Mandy-Sue took Delfina's upper-body measurements, deftly wielding the measuring tape with a lifetime of experience. "Flex your wings, please so I can see your range of motion."

(((((OOC: That's okay.)))))
Ebony blinked. "You mean the one I named Sweetie? I didn't know she was gonna have babies. Maybe I should go see her. I feel well enough now."
~~~~~
Delfina obliged and flexed her wings, spreading them out to their full length as if she were about to fly and then moved them in a flapping motion.
"And then there is the trouble with inbreeding I presume." Michael laid down. "But if I know Tess, I am sure that she has something to counter that.
"Are you sure that you only want basic bedding for cars and aircrafts for now?" Cole turned to Richter. "Anything else that you would like, such as supplies for you?"
"That's a bit of a breeze!" Mandy-Sue laughed as the displaced air ruffled her close-cropped tresses. "OK, that's fine."
"They say she might have twins or even triplets." Mater added. "Now THAT be somethin'!"
"They must be really cute babies." Darcy had only seen the dwarf goats briefly, but they looked like adorable little fuzzballs to her.
"If you can find any fresh, unprocessed fruit, we'd really appreciate it. We have grow chambers, but not a lot of variety right now." Tess had already learned that fruit was grown for flavor extracts, boutique fuels and pharmaceuticals.
Julian was still peering out the small door opening when another person checked into the security office, dressed in dark blue BDUs. He hadn't seen her before. She was champagne blonde, with a face that leaned towards "strong" more than "pretty". There was a dog at her side, too slender, long-legged and deep-chested to be a German shepherd, and lacking the black saddle marking. There was such a breed, but he couldn't recall offhand what it was called. She was about 5' 9", of a height to look him directly in the eye. For a split second, she did... and he found himself swimming in large, wide eyes of Elizabeth Taylor violet. They balanced and softened other features that would have been a little too sharp by themselves, especially without the benefit of makeup, and made her memorable. Then she was gone, down the hall with her dog trotting smartly at heel.
"Who was that?" he found himself asking.
Delfina stopped her wings and half-folded them behind her. "Sorry. Anyway, anything else?"
~~~~~
Ebony looked down at her own twins, still curled against her. "Twins, eh? Just like mine?"

((Who is she? Did I miss an introduction or something?.))
Michael didn't see her, but heard the patter of dog legs. "Most likely a dog trainer. And as things are looking, the dog is a bloodhound."
"That shouldn't be trouble." Cole nodded, preparing an email. "So you eat that stuff raw then? Sorry, been reading the technological stuff rather than biological."

"They tell me a goat can even have four kids sometimes." Mater said. "Hope it's not that many, she's such a li'l thing. Some a' th' others 've had babies already, they're already jumpin' around. And someone brought in a horse with an empty saddle, and we dunno who that belongs to yet. The gear on it didn't look like anythin' the folks here already had."
"I think I got everything." Mandy-Sue threw her tape back over her shoulder. "I got some fabrics in the storeroom out back that might be suitable if you all wanna look."
<<< That's Liska Jellinek, and the dog is a Malinois, which can be mistaken for a lightly-built German Shepherd. They have bloodhounds in frozen embryo state but no grown ones yet.>>>
"Raw or cooked." Tess confirmed. "Fruits and vegetables. We have seed banks and materials to set up greenhouses and irrigation systems, but it would take a while to get decent crops going."

Ebony hmmm'd. "I'm not sure, but could that horse belong to that guy who stabbed Raine?"
~~~~~
"Sure, let's go have a look," replied Delfina.
((Michael wasn't referring to the breed, but rather dogs that are trained to find a relevant trail and follow it.))
"Didn't Doc bring you seeds?" Cole asked. "There are a lot of cars that would be more happy with if you use the local vaerity of fruits and vegetables. But if there is no identical breed, we can perhaps allow some experimental growing."
"He brought us some cereal grain samples." Tess nodded. "The seeds we brought over, for now, would only be grown under controlled conditions in the grow chambers or enclosed places where there is far less risk of their pollen mixing with native cultivars until it can be assured that there will be no negative impacts on your own crops. If any real research outfit or an experimental farm wants to get a few seeds, they'd be welcome."
"Didn't look like a bloodhound to me." Julian said. "When someone brings that up to me, I think of big old lop-eared dogs, of which I didn't see any yet." He craned his neck as he heard voices down the hall, then the woman went back down the hall with the dog and two men. "Looks like they're about to do some further poking around."
"That's what they think." Mater nodded. "I'm sure they'd let you go have a look."
Darcy was also looking interested in seeing the animals.
The seamstress showed Delfina and her companions into a back room filled with bolts of cloth and a dizzying range of colors and textures. "You can see what looks best on you here. Much of this stuff was supply for the Von Richter circus operation in Vegas - our Vegas, that is. We'd just had it trucked back before what happened. Good thing my daughter and son-in-law and grandkids happened to be over that week. Of course, some of the colors are gonna be a bit loud."
Ruth-Ann cast her eyes about the room. "Wow. I knew some costumers on the con circuit who would've killed for all this."
"Yeah, I need to move around anyway," Ebony nudged at her babies, gently tucking them among the blankets to keep them warm while she was away. She managed to steady herself on her tires and drove to the stables where the animals were at.
~~~~~
Delfina looked at the all the fabric in amazement. She'd been in fabric stores before, but this just takes the cake.
"Anything in subtle blues or greens?" asked Delfina.

"That will be after introduction." Cole waved a tire. "Actual experimental stuff is left to the public. We simply collect information and act on them if needed." He said with ease, knowing that Tess and Kathleen would have a pretty good idea already of whom Cole represented.
"I mean a dog that is trained to track scents." Michael sighed. "I doubt it is related to your predicament."
